The City of Caldwell is looking for individuals committed to serving the citizens of their community while maintaining the high standards of public trust, integrity and professionalism.


Currently the Caldwell Police Department has 63 officers to serve a population of 46,000 and is looking for qualified candidates that would like a career in law enforcement.

The process may include an interview, criminal background check, polygraph, and drug test. Applicants for Patrol and Reserve Officer positions will be administered a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and a written test of basic knowledge. The PFT complies withIDAHO POLICE STANDARDS AND TRAINING(POST) fitness requirements.

Pay and Benefits

Starting pay is $16.22 per hour; self sponsors and graduates of POST, lateral transfers and officers with a Basic Certificate is $17.17 per hour. Benefits include longevity pay, certificate pay for intermediate and advanced POST certificates, uniform allowance, paid vacation, 10 paid holidays per year, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

Testing and Requirements

Testing consists of a written test, physical fitness test, polygraph, psychological exam, and a thorough background investigation.
