Plant Mechanic

 Job Summary/Qualifications: The City of Caldwell has an opening for a Plant Mechanic at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Individual performs variety of skilled and technical tasks related to the installation, maintenance and repair of treatment plant mechanized equipment; performs daily maintenance, repair and fabrication of treatment of plant facilities; performs daily maintenance, repair and fabrication of mechanical, electronic, electrical, and motorized equipment; operates heavy equipment; and performs related work and tasks as required. Subject to a pre-employment drug screening and background check.  

Education: High School diploma or GED; and Five (5) years maintenance experience on related treatment plant equipment; or Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Required Special Qualifications: Possession or the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 60 days of employment. Required to respond on a twenty-four (24) hour standby or on-call. After hours on-call and residency within a 20-minute service response area.
