The City of Caldwell is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and is dedicated to providing equal access to all City-sponsored programs, services, and activities for citizens with disabilities.

Language Assistance

City of Caldwell - Limited English Proficiency Plan (LEP)(PDF, 2MB)

A person who does not speak English as their primary language and who has limited ability to read, write, speak or understand English may be a Limited English Proficient person and may be entitled to language assistance with respect to City of Caldwell services.

The City of Caldwell LEP Plan addresses translation services on an 'as needed' basis to individuals with limited English proficiency. Any person needing translation services for public meetings may make arrangements prior to the meeting through the City clerk at 455-4656.

Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the City of Caldwell will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in admission or access to its services, programs, or activities including federally assisted services, programs, or activities.

Additionally, the City of Caldwell does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.

Modifications to Policies and Procedures

The City of Caldwell will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcomed in City of Caldwell offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Caldwell, may contact the City department that is sponsoring the event or the City's ADA/Section 504 Coordinator. The request should be made as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event. The ADA does not require the City of Caldwell to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

ADA Meeting Accommodations

Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid or service for a City Council Meeting should contact the City Clerk's Office at 208-455-4656 as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the start of the meeting.

Complaints that a program, service, or activity of the City of Caldwell is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the City's ADA Coordinator:
