Mapping The mission of the GIS Mapping Department is to develop and maintain a Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS and Mapping provide a computerized link between geographic features, such as fire hydrants, and their corresponding feature specific data, such as the manufacturer, year installed, and the date of last maintenance.

Stormwater The Stormwater Division protects local waterways by managing runoff and preventing pollution. Annually, the team inspects drainage systems, monitors water quality, responds to pollution reports, and ensures construction sites follow erosion control regulations. Public education and outreach help keep rivers healthy for future generations.
Construction Stormwater Controls Construction sites with land disturbances larger than 1 acre must always have a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), per City Code, 04-19-09: STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) physical or digital, available to our City Stormwater Inspectors during construction while they are on site during their inspections.
Stormwater Illicit Discharge Detection Elimination Program Help us protect the water quality of our surface waters that drain to the Lower Boise River, such as Indian Creek and Mason Creeks, by helping us reduce pollutants entering stormwater runoff from everyday activities as this water does not get cleaned before it discharges into our nearby surface waters.
