Councilmember Chuck was born and raised on a farm in Minnesota and moved to Canyon County in 1977. He spent three years in the U. S. Army, stationed at Fort Eustis, VA. After his tour of duty in the Army, he was hired by the J. R. Simplot Company where he retired after almost 30 yrs of service as the company's Raw Procurement Director in the U. S., Canada, Asia, and Europe. After his retirement, Chuck started his own potato consulting service called Spud Viking Potato Consulting and was also employed as the Executive Director for the Southern Idaho Potato Growers Co-op. He recently retired from all potato businesses.

Chuck has served in the community for many years as part of the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall Board, Love Your City, Caldwell Golf Board, City Budget Committee, and the Urban Renewal Commission. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for Grace Lutheran Church here in Caldwell.

Chuck and his wife Connie have been married 56 yrs and have three children. All are located in the Treasure Valley. His hobbies include taking youngsters and veterans fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Chuck previously served as a member of the Caldwell City Council from 2016 to 2019, and was elected in 2021 to his current term.
