CALDWELL, ID:  Perfectly Positioned...Endless Possibilities

Caldwell is one of the fastest-growing cities in the region, offering a business environment where strategic location and strong infrastructure are matched by a deep commitment to community and quality of life.

Located along a natural passageway to the Inland and Pacific Northwest, Caldwell provides exceptional connectivity without the costs or congestion of a major metropolitan area. The city is just 32 minutes from Downtown Boise and 30 minutes from the Boise Airport (BOI), with immediate access to Interstate 84, multiple state highway routes, a full-service executive airport, the #1 ranked college in Idaho, and a strong Union Pacific Railroad presence—providing seamless access to local, regional, and national markets.

But Caldwell’s value extends beyond logistics and infrastructure.

Growth in Caldwell is intentional and community centered. A diverse mix of retail, dining, healthcare, arts and entertainment, manufacturing, and distribution industries supports a stable local economy and a workforce that wants to live, work, and stay here. This balance helps employers attract and retain talent while offering an affordable, high-quality lifestyle for employees and their families.

Caldwell’s natural setting—rolling hills, rivers and creeks, parks, trail systems, golf courses, and nearby lakes—creates an environment that supports an active lifestyle and a strong sense of place. Cultural amenities, historic districts, downtown events, and year-round activities contribute to a community that feels both vibrant and authentic.

This thoughtful approach to growth has attracted respected employers such as J.R. Simplot Company, Darigold, Johnson Thermal Systems, Fresca Mexican Foods, Crookham Seed Company, Capital Distributing, Fred Meyer, Walmart, Albertsons, Home Depot, CBH Homes’ corporate headquarters, West Valley Medical Center, St. Alphonsus Health, and many others—companies that value both operational efficiency and community stability.

In Caldwell, businesses don’t have to choose between performance and place. It’s a community built for sustainable growth—where companies can succeed and people can thrive together.

CED works directly with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community partners to attract, retain, and expand employers; encourage entrepreneurship; support the creation of quality jobs; and maintain a strong local workforce pipeline. Since its founding in 1987, CED has provided hands-on, responsive services to businesses seeking to locate, expand, or reinvest in Caldwell.

These efforts have helped spur development in key commercial corridors and historic districts, resulting in thousands of new jobs and meaningful private investment that benefits residents and strengthens the local tax base. Today, CED remains focused on promoting Caldwell as a place where businesses can succeed while also advancing the shared economic interests of the city’s existing employers.
