Caldwell Utility Rate Adjustments FY2027

The City of Caldwell would like to inform residents that adjustments to water, sewer, and sanitation rates will take effect beginning with the November 1^st utility bills. The average residential customer will see an increase of approximately $1.50-$3.00 per month. A new fee will be charged of 3$ for those currently receiving a paper statement in the mail. Last year there was a significant increase to the sewer base rate, this year the sewer base increased by only $2.43 and water usage rates went down for residential customers. These adjustments are necessary to maintain and improve critical infrastructure while ensuring that the city can continue to provide reliable water, sewer, and sanitation services to our residents.

During the City’s annual budget process, proposed rate changes were discussed at a budget workshop on July 15^th, new fees and fees increasing more than 5% were published in the paper on July 29, 2026 and August 5, 2026 and a public hearing was held on August 11^th, to ensure transparency and allow for public input. Final approval of all City Fees was completed on August 17^th during regular council session.

In recent weeks, the City’s Utility Billing Department will be proactively notifying customers that their November 1st statements will reflect the approved rate adjustments. These notices will include messaging to help customers understand that the new rates will be in effect Nov 1st.
