Overview
The City of Caldwell Engineering Department's mission is to provide suitable and safe roads, parks, walkways, and utility access for a growing community.
Throughout Caldwell and areas of impact, the engineering department develops roadways, sanitary sewer, surface wastewater disposal and drinking water facilities and provides necessary utilities for existing and future housing and business districts.

Fire Hydrant Information
Notice to all contractors:
Caldwell Water Department requires fire hydrant meters for use on all fire hydrants within the City of Caldwell.
- Fire hydrant meters are available for lease and will be checked out at the Caldwell Water Department. The meter will be on a first come, first served basis.
- To lease a meter, go to the Caldwell Water Department web page. Here you will find links to the Fire Hydrant Meter Policy and application.
- The policy will cover what is required for meter leasing and what is expected while leasing the meter.
- Applications and a deposit to lease a meter, are required to be completed online through the link.
- Once the application and deposit are completed, contact the Water Department by phone (208) 455-3070, option #2, to schedule a meter pick-up located at 305 W. Chicago Street, Caldwell, Idaho 83605.
