NEW DETOUR ROUTE:
The detour route has changed. A mailed postcard shows a detour using KCID Road. The new detour uses Smeed Parkway. The City of Caldwell and the contractor revised the route to align with the detour for the Linden Street and Middleton Road closure for the Highway District 4 roundabout project.

CLOSURE AHEAD:
The City of Caldwell plans to close the intersection of Linden Street and Ward Road in January 2026. The closure will allow crews to build a roundabout and is expected to last until spring 2026. A detour will be in place. Sign up for updates to receive information directly to your inbox.

See the detour maps on this page for the new route.

Phased closures:

  • Monday, January 5, 2026 - The intersection will fully close for a few weeks so crews can build a temporary bypass lane that will connect Linden Street west of the intersection to Ward Road.
  • Mid-January to early March 2026 - The intersection will be partially reopened, and the bypass will be used. During this time, access between Ward Road and Linden Street will remain open from the west. Access to and from the east will not be available.
  • Early March to early April 2026 - The intersection will need to be fully closed for about one month so crews can build the roundabout and complete major construction activities. There will be no route through the intersection during this time.

This phased approach keeps the intersection open for as long as possible and shortens the amount of time a full closure is needed. Sign up for updates to receive information about each phase directly to your inbox.
