Home Destroyed in Afternoon Fire At approximately 5:00 p.m., the Caldwell Fire Department responded to reports of a residential fire in the 1500 block of N. Plateau Avenue. The fire originated in the garage and quickly spread throughout the home, resulting in a total loss of the structure. At the time of the fire, one minor was inside the residence. They were able to safely evacuate and call 911.
