The City of Caldwell and Caldwell Parks & Recreation invite residents to a public open house on February 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., (City of Caldwell Council Chambers, 205 S. 6th Avenue), where community members can review early concepts and help shape the design of a new 9.81‑acre neighborhood park. The park, located east of Van Buren Elementary School between Marble Front Road and Lincoln Road, will provide new recreation opportunities for families in one of Caldwell’s fastest-growing neighborhoods. Park design is anticipated to be completed in early summer 2026.

“We are excited to bring forward a new park that will serve this vibrant neighborhood for generations,” said Tiffany DeFrance, Director, Caldwell Parks and Recreation. “Community involvement is essential. We want this to be a space that reflects the unique character and aspirations of the people who will use it every day.”

The public is invited to provide feedback by:

  • Reviewing the first draft of conceptual ideas for the new park.
  • Voting on preferred amenities – such as playgrounds, walking paths, sports features, open lawns, natural areas, and community gathering spaces
  • Speaking directly with project planners, landscape architects, and city staff
  • Participating in interactive activities designed to gather community preferences

“The voice of our community is central to creating successful public spaces,” added Angela Hansen, Project Manager for the design team. “Whether you live next door or simply enjoy Caldwell’s park system, we welcome your input.”

No formal presentation is scheduled; guests are encouraged to drop in at any time during the open hours. Following the open house, the project team will refine concept designs based on the feedback received. Those unable to attend the open house are invited to provide feedback to the Caldwell Parks Department by emailing caldwellparks@cityofcaldwell.org
