Online Portal & Services

PLEASE NOTE:  ALL COMMERCIAL, MULTI-FAMILY & RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION PERMITS MUST BE SUBMITTED DIGITALLY THROUGH THE ONLINE PORTAL SYSTEM.  PAPER SUBMITTALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 

Online Submission Processing: 

Please allow 24 hours for the city’s building staff to process your request after submittal. Requests submitted after 5:00 pm will not be officially received until 10:00 AM the following business day. Please allow 24 hours from that time for processing. We are diligent in working to process your requests as quickly as possible.

Inspection Scheduling: 

Inspections must be called in to the Inspection Line 208-455-4605.  Inspections must be called in by 7:00 AM for same day inspections. All inspections called in after 7:00 AM will be scheduled for the following day.  

Permits must be paid for and issued prior to scheduling of inspections can occur. All Retro-fit inspections will not occur until further notice.  All Fire Department and Planning & Zoning inspections must be scheduled through the online portal only.

On-line Payments:

We request that all permits submitted on-line, be paid for on-line either by credit card (VISA OR MC only) or e-check. In the event of an error, system malfunction, or loss of service, payments may be paid in the office. Payments made in the office must be paid for either by credit card or check.

NOTE: Airport Projects: All projects that are a part of the Caldwell Airport must be submitted to the Airport Manager for approval, prior to submitting for a permit.

Corrections and Certificates of Occupancy:   

The Building Safety Division will now be using our new permit software as intended....to go paperless.

Effective immediately, paper corrections and Certificates of Occupancy will no longer be printed at the jobsite.  All project information is available in your Citizenserve account, and Certificates can be printed if needed, from your "Documents" tab once the inspector has approved and issued the C.O.  We are excited to be moving forward with this and will be here to help at any time.  Thank you.

Welcome to the ePermits page for all your electronic permitting needs.

ePermits Apply OnlineAll permits may be submitted electronically by selecting on the ePermits icon. The Citizenserve access portal will allow you to create an account, submit, and monitor all of your projects, including inspection scheduling. Important, both online citizen access portals require an email address to use.

Project Dox - City of Caldwell Electronic Plan Review

All plans and documents that are part of your submittal will be plan reviewed simultaneously with other departments through Project Dox. Once your application submittal is complete through our ePermits system, a project will be created in Project Dox. This will generate an email to you with instructions to log in and create an account. Please read the Users Guide for instructions on uploading files. Plans and documents that are not uploaded per the requirements set forth in the Users Guide will be rejected.
