It has been a busy 12 hours for the Caldwell Fire Department after responding to two house fires. The first occurred last night, just before 9 p.m. Caldwell Fire crews responded to a structure fire on E. Kearney Street. A Caldwell Police Department drone arrived on scene ahead of fire crews and provided critical real-time information regarding the size and scope of the fire. Based on this information, additional fire apparatus was requested before the arrival of the first fire unit.

Upon arrival, crews observed active flames coming through the roof near the RV section of the garage. All residents and pets were safely evacuated from the home. No one was injured. The fire spread into the attic and caused extensive damage to the second floor of the residence. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. All occupants were able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived due to working smoke alarms.

The Caldwell Fire Department would like to thank the Caldwell Police Department, Middleton/Star Fire, Nampa Fire, and Canyon County Paramedics for their assistance and coordinated response.

The second fire happened this morning at 8:25 a.m. on Wagner Road. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire coming from inside the residence. Firefighters acted quickly and had the fire under control approximately six minutes after arriving on scene, preventing further damage to the structure. All occupants were able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived due to working smoke alarms that CFD crews had recently helped change in the home. One patient was treated on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
