At 10:12 a.m., the Caldwell Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to a residence where a large tree branch had fallen onto the home. Upon arrival, within just two minutes, crews found that the branch had also brought down a power line, impacting both the house and a vehicle parked in the front yard.
The residents were home at the time of the incident. One individual was transported by Canyon County Paramedics to the hospital for evaluation.
Idaho Power responded promptly and worked with crews to safely secure the downed line. The scene was stabilized and fully secured within an hour of the initial dispatch.
Safety Reminder: Always treat downed power lines as if they are live. Do not approach, touch, or attempt to move them. Call 911 or your local utility provider to report any downed lines.
