The Caldwell Police Department, in cooperation with the Queen Creek Police Department (Arizona), arrested Darryl Kysar, a convicted felon wanted on a nationwide, no-bond warrant after fleeing from multiple Arizona law enforcement agencies last month.

Kysar had been on the run since May 13, when he fled during a lengthy vehicle pursuit involving several Arizona agencies. During that pursuit, Kysar discarded a firearm from his vehicle and ultimately abandoned his truck in the desert. He was able to elude capture at the time and remained at large. Following weeks of investigation, a tip alerted us to Kysar staying at the Sun Creek Point RV Park in Caldwell.

Caldwell Police quickly initiated surveillance and confirmed his presence at the RV park. After verifying key identifying information, officers developed a plan to safely take him into custody. On June 12, Caldwell Police personnel moved in and arrested Kysar without incident. Evidence sought by investigators was also recovered at the scene. Kysar was transported to jail and remains in custody. Queen Creek Police Department extended its appreciation for Caldwell PD’s quick response, thorough planning, and assistance in safely apprehending a dangerous fugitive.

“This operation is an excellent example of the effectiveness of interagency collaboration,” said Rex Ingram, Caldwell Chief of Police. “Our officers acted decisively and professionally to ensure public safety and assist our law enforcement partners in Arizona.”
