Leadership Caldwell Gets Training at Caldwell Fire Training Facility
Published on March 06, 2025
The Caldwell Fire Department recently welcomed Leadership Caldwell to its training facility for an immersive experience, offering participants a firsthand look at the many facets of the fire service. From learning about each division to suiting up in gear, attendees engaged in hands-on activities that showcased the skills, training, and dedication required to protect the community.
Participants observed crews extricating training mannequins from a vehicle using specialized rescue tools, witnessed how quickly fire ignites and how swiftly firefighters respond, and engaged in meaningful discussions about emergency response operations. The event provided valuable insight into the challenges our firefighters face with limited resources and the teamwork that is essential to keeping the community safe.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to share what we do with Leadership Caldwell,” said Matt Shupe, Deputy Chief of Operations. “Experiences like these strengthen the connection between first responders and the community, highlighting the importance of fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the extensive training our crews undergo.”
Kellie Smith, Home Loan Specialist with Churchill Mortgage and participant in Caldwell Chamber Leadership Caldwell, shared her thoughts on the experience: “Seeing firsthand the level of training, skill, and dedication that goes into firefighting was eye-opening. The hands-on demonstrations truly emphasized the complexity of emergency response and the commitment these firefighters have to protecting our community.”
The Caldwell Fire Department extends its sincere gratitude to Mayor Wagoner, the City Council, and other city leaders for their ongoing support of our agency, particularly in the development and enhancement of our training facility. Their commitment enables us to expand our capabilities, provide advanced training opportunities, and better serve our rapidly expanding community. We look forward to continuing to showcase, train, educate, and engage at our facility.
