The Caldwell Fire Department has officially launched its inaugural 16-week Fire Academy, welcoming nine new firefighter recruits to the organization.

This academy marks an important milestone for the department as it continues to grow to meet the needs of Caldwell’s expanding community. The nine recruits will undergo an intensive training program designed to prepare them for the physical, mental, and technical demands of the fire service.

“We are proud to welcome this new class of recruits,” said Fire Chief Bryan Daniels. “They are slated to help us meet the staffing needs for the opening of Fire Station 4, ensuring we continue to provide the highest level of service to the residents and visitors of our community.”

The department extends its gratitude to the Caldwell City Council, Mayor, and other city departments for their continued support in improving the department’s training grounds. A special thank-you also goes to our internal teams, whose hard work and dedication often on their own time made it possible to rehabilitate existing structures and host the academy locally at Caldwell Fire’s own facility. This accomplishment reflects the collaboration and commitment of both our city leadership and department personnel.

Upon successful completion of the academy, recruits will earn State Firefighter I and II certifications, Wildland Firefighter Type 2 certification, Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations certification, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification, Confined Space Rescue Awareness training, Technical Rescue Awareness training (including rope, water and vehicle extrication), and Firefighter Survival training.
