The outside southbound lane of the 10th Avenue Overpass has been reopened, after a nearly 100- day closure.

The lane closure was due to the discovery of a severely damaged girder that supported the bridge’s weight over the railroad tracks. Traffic was diverted off the traffic lane above the girder for safety reasons, as recommended by the Idaho Transportation Department.

The emergency repair was delayed to design a satisfactory solution, coordinate efforts with the Union Pacific Railroad, install shoring under the bridge, and in order and receive special parts for the repair. The repair was paid through a grant secured by the City of Caldwell from the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council.

The City of Caldwell apologizes for the inconvenience during the lane closure and very much appreciates the patience of the public as we completed this repair.
