Description
The City of Caldwell is looking for a Lifeguard to work at the City Pool. Individual monitors activities in and around public pools to provide assistance and protection to patrons. This position is temporary work during the summer season only, located at Memorial Pool. This position works days, evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer. This position is required to perform emergency medical and lifesaving activities. The principal duties of this position are performed outdoors, which may involve adverse weather conditions and related hazards. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
Maintains patron safety. Monitors patron behavior in and around the pool. Enforces pool rules. Assists patrons in need of rescue and performs necessary lifesaving activities. Provides first aid, CPR, and calls emergency medical personnel when required. Performs customer service by interacting with patrons and communicating information regarding pool programs and pool safety. Performs custodial work as necessary, including maintaining a safe pool and deck area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications, including CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug testing
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
