CPD Detective Bureau
Detective Team
The Detective Team is comprised of one sergeant, two corporals, and seven detectives. This team primarily investigates complex felony crimes such as homicide, rape, child abuse, domestic violence, robbery, aggravated assault and battery, forgery, grand theft, and burglary. The detectives work closely with Victim Witness Coordinators, patrol officers, and the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to serve victims of crime through relentless follow up.
School Resource Officer Team
The School Resource Officer Team is comprised of officers specially trained to work in schools. They have roles as police officers, teachers, and counselors for students and staff, and provide a bridge between law enforcement and youth in the school setting. During the summer break, School Resource Officers conduct patrols of the community as part of the Bike Patrol and Mounted Unit.
Operation Safe Streets
Operation Safe Streets is comprised of one sergeant, one corporal, and two detectives. The primary mission of this team is addressing street level violent crime and emerging crime trends using a comprehensive enforcement approach.
