Cinco de Mayo: Indian Creek Plaza
Fiesta on the Plaza
Often mistaken for Mexican Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo marks the country's victory over France 50 years after their independence. In the U.S. today, this holiday has become an opportunity for all Americans to celebrate Mexico's unique culture, and that's just what we do here in downtown Caldwell. Every year, the Plaza comes alive, bursting with vibrant colors, flavorful spices and live music. And, yes, there will be tacos! We look forward to this fiesta on the plaza every year because it represents nearly half of our community here in Caldwell. This is an event that brings us all together in one place to dance, eat and enjoy our whole community with family and friends.
Event Highlights
Taco Taste-Off
Did someone say tacos? Start prepping your taste buds now, amigos, because we've tracked down the best taco trucks in the valley to go head-to-head in a friendly competition. This year we have eight taco trucks participating! You are the judges, so come hungry and ready to crown the next winner of Taco Truck Taste-Off.
Traditional Mexican Folk Dancing
Indian Creek Plaza is proud to host Treasure Valley's own Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo Idaho. The combination of rich, authentic music and bright colors transforms the plaza, making it the perfect place for you to bring your family and friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year.
Authentic Mexican Bands
Included in the festivities are main stage performances from Tejano Outlaw as well as Nueva Generacion 2000. These two groups bring their own unique sound to traditional Mexican Music and fill the plaza with Mexican beats that'll make you want to dance!
