Caldwell Community Invited to Participate in Week of Remembrance Tribu
Published on April 21, 2026
The City of Caldwell, under the leadership of Mayor Eric Phillips, proclaimed at the Caldwell City Council meeting last night, April 26 through May 3, as a Week of Remembrance to honor fallen firefighters and emergency services personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Each year, an average of 80 firefighters across the nation lose their lives while protecting their communities. This week provides an opportunity to reflect on their bravery, honor their service, and support the families they leave behind.
“This year is especially significant for our department and our community, as we have the honor of recognizing one of our own at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial,” said Chief Daniels. “Deputy Chief Trosky-Johnson’s service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we are proud to stand with his family and honor his legacy on a national stage.”
As part of this observance, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation leads the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters campaign, encouraging communities to show their support by illuminating homes, businesses, and public buildings in red.
The Caldwell Fire Department invites all residents, businesses, and organizations to participate in this meaningful tribute from April 26 through May 3 by:
- Lighting their homes or buildings in red
- Hanging red ribbons
- Displaying red porch lights
- Creating red chalk art or decorations
- Wearing red in honor of the fallen
If you participate, we encourage you to take a photo and share it on social media using the hashtags #NFFFLightTheNight2026, #FireHero2026, and #caldwellfiredepartment to help spread awareness and show your support.
